CURRENT PROJECTS
County Water & Sewer In July 2007 approval from the WV Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council was received for a $3M+ water project for the following areas of the county: Woods Drive, Beech Hill/Old Delta Road/Dry Branch, Lake Hollow - Sycamore Ridge/Panther Lick, and Lime Kiln Road. Kelly's Creek (off of WV Route 34 South) was initially included in that project, which did not reach the required 80% participation; therefore that area was eliminated from the project. The total estimated cost of the project is $3,195,000. Construction is scheduled to begin summer 2008. The County Commission is pursuing the possibility of a $5M water project for several unserved areas of the county for citizens who have submitted petitions. After submitting applications for several years, Putnam County was awarded a Small Cities Block Grant in 2006 for the Jim/Manila/Bee Ridge water project. QK4 was hired using the first installment of the grant in the amount of $200,000 to provide engineering for Phase I of that project. Construction will begin when the next payment on the grant is received which is anticipated for spring of 2008.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2008 on
the $2M TIF Teays Valley sewer upgrade/refurbishing Putnam PSD project involving 6500
customers. A $2M grant will fund the upgrading of the Hometown
wastewater treatment plant. |
